Carey Nieuwhof is the lead pastor of Connexus Community Church, a growing multi-campus church north of Toronto and strategic partner of North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Prior to starting Connexus in 2007, Carey served for 12 years in a mainline church, transitioning three small congregations into a single, rapidly growing congregation.

Carey is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and also holds degrees in history and theology. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993 and then left law to pursue ministry.
He and his wife, Toni, live near Barrie, Ontario and have two sons, Jordan and Sam. In his spare time, you can find him cycling his heart out on a back road somewhere. He blogs at careynieuwhof.com and orangeparents.org.
